Finals are still happening

Last time I talked about finals seasons in Germany, and I guess I will again for this post because that is still all I can think about. I think I mentioned how each class has a lot less assignment, so each one is worth a huge portion of your grade. I just finished a block seminar that demonstrates this very well. Participation was a half of our grade, and the other half is a 3000 word essay. Did not sound like it would be very difficult, but it has turned out to be quite the opposite. Participation was not the hard part. I think I probably got quite a highscore on this section, because all you have to do is contribute regularly. The essay is turning out to be an enormous pain though. 3000 words for half your grade is not bad, so that is not the problem. The problem is that the prompt options are extremely vague, and the expectation is very high. This paper has turned into days and days of non-stop research and writing. I have changed my thesis like 20 times. I don't know if that is a Germany thing, or a this professor thing but it is something maybe to be aware of.

I will post about all things that are required for one to do before they leave Germany, but not until I have done that next week. I refuse to think about it until after I finish my last final on Monday. Suffice to say, there is a number of bureaucratic things that must be taken care of. I shall follow that post with a reflection on my experiences in Germany when i get back to the states on July 21st.
